Manhattan-based Julie Matos is a stylist who lends her intuitive eye to match her clients needs, budgets and demands. Whether working with celebrity clients to infuse their personal style with this season’s trends or with designers on runway shows, she is known for her way of interpreting fashion-forward trends to match a project’s needs.
Born and raised in Boston, Julie launched her career while still a Sophomore at Lasell College Fashion Institute of Technology – first producing and styling fashion shows at Filene’s, a Division of May Department stores, moving on to style a national advertising campaign for the company and become the youngest full-time Creative Merchandise Manager in the company’s history. There she collaborated with publications, such as Vogue, to style and direct trend-driven fashion shows as well as launch new collections like the “be” and “ie” for May Department stores.
A move to New York landed Julie a full-time job at new New York Magazine, and since summer of 2003, Julie has traveled to Paris, Milan, London and other destinations for various fashion shows and International publications such as Style Magazine.
As a result, she has built a versatile portfolio and broad range of styling capabilities. Her clients have included beauty brands like Maybelline New York, designers Tommy Hilfiger and Todd Oldham, and pop stars like Briteny Spears, in addition to styling top models for the runway. Despite her hectic schedule, she finds time to speak in high school and college classes on the value of setting professional and personal goals and making a life long dream a reality.
